Terms, disclaimers, and how we handle the record.
Presumption of innocence
Every person described as arrested, charged, or accused is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law. Charges are allegations. Where a case ends without a conviction, or charges are dropped, the case page is updated when reliable records become available. Language on this site follows the record: police said, investigators found, records show, was charged, was convicted.
Accuracy and sourcing
Reconstructions are compiled from public records: footage released under public-records law or published by agencies, 911 and dispatch audio, court filings, and reporting that is cited on each case page. Timelines carry the precision the records support and say so when a time is approximate. This site reports on legal proceedings; it does not provide legal advice, and nothing here is a statement of guilt beyond what a court has found. Errors are corrected when shown; see Contact.
Use of this site
The reconstructions, timelines, maps, and text on this site are original work by Crime Recon and are protected by copyright. Personal viewing, linking, and brief quotation with attribution are welcome. Republishing our research, timelines, or maps in substantial part, on any platform, requires written permission. The underlying government records belong to the public, and we encourage anyone to request them from the agencies directly.
Third-party material
News articles are linked and briefly quoted under fair use, with the source named. Videos are embedded from YouTube and play under YouTube's terms of service. If you hold rights in material that appears here and believe its use is improper, send the exact URL and the basis of your claim to contact@crimerecon.net and it will be reviewed promptly.
Removal and privacy requests
People appear in this material because they appear in the public record. We do not show minors identifiably, we blur uninvolved bystanders where the source did not, and we name people only when the record supports it. If you or a family member appear in a case and want identifying details reviewed, write to contact@crimerecon.net. A person reads every request, and requests are weighed in good faith against the news value of the public record.
Privacy
This site has no accounts, no forms, and sets no tracking cookies of its own. Embedded YouTube players load only after you press play, and from that point Google's privacy policy applies to the player. Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs (IP address, pages requested) for security and capacity, which we do not use to identify visitors. If aggregate, cookieless analytics are added later, this page will say so.
No affiliation
Crime Recon is an independent documentary production. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting on behalf of any law enforcement agency, prosecutor's office, or court.
